Education MEC in the Western Cape Donald Grant is expected to visit Chris Hani Secondary today to thank educators and learners for giving up their school holidays to participate in a Grade 12 Autumn School Program.
His spokeswoman Bronagh Casey says during his visit Grant will also encourage Grade 12 learners to keep motivated and focused on their subjects ahead of the 2010 matric examinations.
The program has received widespread support from neighbouring schools and will continue until the end of the week.
Due to the 2010 Soccer World Cup to be held in the country in June the academic year for this year has been cut shot putting immerse pressure on learners and teachers to work hard.
