A 43 year old man has been arrested in Oudtshoorn for defeating the ends of justice for manufacturing and distributing a product contradicting the liquor conditions.

Police spokesperson Captain Bernadine Steyn says the man was arrested after a warrant for his arrest was obtained.

“He appeared in the Oudtshoorn Magistrates Court on Friday and the case was postponed to May 14.

“During the arrest a search and seizure warrant was executed on the premises during which it was established that the seals on 9 of the 17 tanks were broken. Some of the containers that were previously seized were also removed from the premise,” said Steyn.

More charges might be added as the investigation progresses.
