The incident happened on Wednesday afternoon.

NSRI `s Craig Lambinon says that when the rescue team arrived they found that the fishing boat  was towing their another fishing boat towards Simonstown when the nylon tow-rope snapped and recoiled and during the recoil 28 year old fisherman Siphelele Matomela, from Saldanha Bay, was hit on the head by the rope.
