Western Cape complaints against police increase

The Western Cape Deputy Provincial Commissioner Sharon Jephta has revealed that complaints against Western Cape police this financial year has increased.

At a media briefing today in Cape Town Jephta said that complaints increased by 300 compared to the previous year.

Jephta added that they had received more than two-thousand-100 complaints from the public against police members in the latest review period.

Jephta further said these complaints range from sleeping on duty and disappearance of dockets.

Jephta also said about 80 percent of the cases have been investigated and finalised.
