Male nurse hands himself over after stabbing a Muizenberg police officer to death

 A Male nurse handed himself over to the Lingelethu police station, on Sunday, after stabbing a Muizenberg police officer to death.

Captain, Siphumeza Lusasa was attached to the Muizenberg  SAPS Support Services when he was stabbed while he was on standby duties.

According to hawks spokeperson Zinzi Hani, the incident allegedly took place after the 40 year old suspect got into an argument with the 37 year old officer, where he was stabbed multiple times.

“A member of the public who was on the scene, transported the officer to Khayelisha hospital where he was unfortunately declared dead on arrival.

The suspect allegedly fled the scene . He later handed himself over to police.”

The Western Cape’s Police Oversight & Community Safety MEC, Reagan Allen, condemned the incident and welcomed the arrest.

“The killing of our law enforcement will never be condoned, those transgressing in this particular manner must face the might of the law. The suspect will be making at the Khayelitsha Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 24 January 2023 on a charge of murder.”
