Over 900 000 matriculants awaiting results this week

Education quality assurance body, Umalusi, has confirmed that the 2022-matric results are set to be released this week. Private schools wil receive their results on Wednesday and public schools on Thursday.

Learners will be able to receive their marks at schools on Friday.

Over 900 000 matriculants wrote the exam, a 3% increase over 2021’s participants, comprising full-time and part-time learners from all nine provinces.

The department of basic education stated that a team of 52,811 markers began marking the National Senior Certificate examinations on December 10 until January 6.

Meanwile Umalusi will brief the country on Monday, to discuss last year’s challenges with examinations that include allegations of cheating.

Umalusi gave the assurance of the release of the results following reports that it had asked for an extension for the release.
