The Department of Health has taken actions to help the Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital after they saw the article and photograph of three babies placed in a cardboard box instead of cribs.
The department stated that it was very much disturbed and it directly contradicts what the department stands for.
The Gauteng Department of Health had delivered 43 cradles to the hospital last week. That is besides the 31 cradles that private induviduals donated," says spokesperson Sibani Mngadi of the Department of Health.
The Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital will receive R1.1 billion. The department has sent a team to improve the management capacity. That team will also support the hospital in implementing measures to reduce long delays in the system.
