A 29 year-old man was stabbed to death at Diaz Beach in Mossel Bay on Saturday.
“A 19 year old was arrested on Saturday for allegedly assaulting and stabbing Patrick Smith,” says police spokesperson, Malcolm Pojie.
The victim allegedly went to Diaz Beach with friends when the two of them decided to go swim. It is believed that when Smith later went to fetch his friends, he was supposedly stabbed and assaulted by the 19 year-old.
“It is believed that the man died of his stab wound, but an autopsy will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death,” says Pojie.
The suspect has been charged with murder and is expected to appear in the Mossel Bay magistrate’s court on Monday.
