Four SANParks officials were arrested yesterday afternoon in relation with rhino poaching activities.

The arrests followed after two killed rhinos were discovered in the Kruger National Park.

SANParks CEO David Mabunda says it is depressing that the poaching syndicates have tainted those trusted to protect the country’s heritage.

The suspects include a field ranger who is part of the group that has been on strike for several weeks, two traffic cops and also includes a member of the Protection Services unit.
