Cape Town transport officials have confirmed that taxi violence has flared up in the Hout Bay area yesterday.
According to the police, a driver was allegedly shot by a rival operator.
Transport MEC Robin Carlisle said that an argument erupted between two smaller "amaphela" taxi companies in the area of Imizamo Yethu.
In 2011 the Cape Town / Hout Bay route caused rivalry between the taxi associations.
