Housing subsidy forms have been found dumped in Khayelitsha. The filled-in documents, some of which had copies of identity documents attached, were found in a black bag in an open field earlier this week.
The City of Cape Town’s Ernest Sonnenberg said the documents were not linked to any project, so there were no expectations of people benefiting from a housing development.
“It seems like someone copied forms and distributed forms to the community to fill in.
The process the City of Cape Town takes is; when there is a housing development, the developer would fill in forms with the beneficiaries and be verified by the provincial office” Sonnenberg said.
