Western Cape Community Safety MEC Dan Plato said what Marius Fransman is saying is rubbish and that he will never try to tarnish the image of the SAPS.

This comes after provincial ANC Chairperson Marius Fransman accused Plato of tarnishing the police image and Fransman alleged that the MEC has relations with gang war bosses.

Plato said he works closely with the police and the community based gangs to bring an end to the killings.

Plato further added that he deals with information that he receives from the public and the police as well as some organisations.

He added that he has no right to compile any report because the information that gets to the community safety department gets sent to the authorities for investigation.
