The First International Day of Non-Violence will be addressed at the UN Headquarters in New York on Tuesday the 2nd of October by the South African Foreign Minister Dlamini Zuma, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon and Sonja Gandhi.
The function is organised to mark Mahatma Gandhi and his contribution to the philosophy of non-violence that he developed during his 21 years of stay in South Africa. More then ever before, SA believes that Gandhi’s philosophy remains relevant today as it was before.
Minister Zuma is in New York to lead the South African delegation to the 62nd Session of the UN General Assembly.
