Proteas all rounder Morne Morkel brought a scare to the proteas camp after pulling a foot injury when he bowled only two overs in their three-day practice match against PCB Patrons Xi in Karachi on Saturday.
It is believed that a stud on Morkel's left foot slipped on a small stone in his delivery stride which caused the result that the foot had turned over.
" Morkel's injury could bring Shaun Pollock back into selection frame although the selectors do have other options with six seamers included in the touring party. A lo would depend on what blend of variety they wish to play." says Cricket South Africa's Micheal Owen-Smith.
The naming of the Castle XI team to play Pakistan will be named today due to Morkel's injury.
South Africa plays Pakistan in the first test match today in Karachi.
