The department of home affairs has embarked on a campaign together with the education department to ensure that all matriculants obtain an identity document.
On Friday the home affairs director General Mkuseli Apleni presented what the department has planned for the Easter rush and matric ID programme.
He added that mobile offices would be set up to meet the demand.
Apleni said officials want the process to be complete before matrics complete the preliminary exams in August.
He added their mobile offices are also regularly deployed to schools in various provinces to assist learners to apply for ID’s.
