The Western Government has started a second round of talks with Hisense on making further direct investments into the province.

This follows a Hisense plant which was opened in Atlantis last month which is set to create over 1,000 jobs in the area.

Ministerial Spokesperson Bronwynne Jooste said that this week Hisense took Minister Winde on a tour of three of their production plants and after that Minister met with the general manager of Hisense international.

“They spoke about a second phase investment into the Western Cape and this could start as early as next year and it will see Hisense opening a plant where they will manufacture cell phones and Tablets at the Western Cape factories,” added Jooste.
