Police member caught in possession of Tik

Police Constable Rudolf Groenewald and his partner Elizabeth Johannes appeared in the Bishop Lavis Magistrate's court yesterday morning for the Possession of Drugs.

The couple was arrested on Tuesday after Police received information and executed a search warrant at the premises.

The police seized 18 small bags of Tik, 13 Tik straws and 46 Tik lollies on the premises.

Police spokesperson Director Novela Potelwa says that internal displinary steps forming part of the police services routing out corruption.

The man was granted bail of R3 000-00 and his accomplice received R2 000-00.

The case has been postponed for further investigation until 1st June 2007.
