Prison clerk deals in stolen car parts

Police arrested a clerk at Pollsmoor prison yesterday. The suspect allegedly dealt in stolen car parts from the prison.

He was detained with an accomplice — who is not employed at Pollsmoor — was allegedly staying with him illegally at a correctional services house in the prison complex.

The clerk, who was not named last night, was allegedly subletting his unit to the second suspect.

They are expected to appear in the Wynberg Magistrate’s Court today.
