DA asks Frene Ginwala to back off

Democratic Alliance leader Helen Zille has written to the chairperson of the Pikoli inquiry, Frene Ginwala, telling her to rescue herself with immediate effect from the inquiry.

The reason the DA has written this letter to Ginwala is because she is a long standing member of the National Executive Committee of the ANC and is a close friend of President Thabo Mbeki, who suspended Pikoli.

“We would get an urgent High Court to have her prevented from chairing the inquiry,” says spokesperson of the Democratic Alliance Martin Slabbert.

Zille has said in her letter that Ginwala should send a letter to Pikoli and his legal team to make their attitude known for the request of her withdrawal.
