The Communist Party of Swaziland has embarked on a campaign to mobilise the people of Swaziland to boycott the 2013 tinkhundla elections.

CPS says these elections are undemocratic, as there are no political parties allowed to campaign.

CPS General Secretary Kenneth Kunene said that their campaign aims to expose the way the Constitution is used simply in order to support oppressive autocratic rule by the King.

Kunene also said they will provide information on what a truly democratic Constitution and electoral process would look like.

Kunene further said they will campaign to convince the Swazi people that the most progressive and democratic thing they can do during the tinkhundla elections is not to vote.

He added that CPS will produce information and statements on the true nature of the 2005 Constitution, tinkhundla and the way Mswati actually runs government.
