Tom Moyane to chair ACSA

The Correctional Services National Commissioner Tom Moyane has been elected as the Chair of African Correctional Services Association.

Moyane was elected at the Biennial Conference, hosted by Uganda Prisons Service, in Kampala, Uganda.

Correctional Services Ministry’s Spokesperson Logan Maistry said that by electing South Africa as Chair, ACSA recognises the significant role played by the country in this important African institution.

Representatives from more than 24 countries attended the conference, and South Africa was represented by Correctional Services Chief Deputy Commissioner for Incarceration and Corrections James Smalberger.
