The Democratic Alliance has proposed Tshwane-Pretoria as the new name of the capital now that public consultation on the matter has been opened.
National spokesperson Mmusi Maimane has denied that they are sitting on the fence or trying to please their supporters on both sides of the spectrum.
He adds that they stand for a shared future for the country and regard their proposal as reconciliatory.
The DA is urging residents of Pretoria to let their voices be heard in the public participation process.
