SA not producing enough quality Maths and Science educators

The Democratic Alliance has today stated that South Africa is not producing sufficient quality educators in the fields of Maths and Science.

South Africa was graded 62nd out of 62 countries that were inspected by the World Economic forum Financial Development on Wednesday.

DA Shadow Minister of Basic Education Annette Lovemore said that the DA plans to “increase the number of bursars to, increase the numbers of graduates, to increase the number of placements (in jobs) through the scheme” so there can be more teachers in South Africa’s education system.

 Lovemore says they hope to have a number is hoped to reach 10 000 teachers to extinguish the teacher shortage that is prevalent at the moment.
