The
Minister of Police, Nathi Mthethwa on Wednesday said he will legally challenge
the establishment of the Commission of Inquiry by Western Cape Premier, Helen
Zille and have it set aside.
The Commission was established in August to investigate police inefficiency in Khayelitsha.
The Social Justice Coalition says every person has the right to live a dignified life free from violence whether from public or private sources and the State must uphold this right diligently and without delay.
SJC`s Joe Bregman says they respect the Ministers right to lodge an application in court. Bregman says they see this as an attempt to disturb a process that is at an advance stage.
