Police investigating a case of attempted murder and illegal possession of explosives

The Police in Mmakau east of Brits are investigating a case of attempted murder and illegal possession of explosives.

This comes after a man threw a bomb into the fire. It is alleged that three men were sitting around the fire when the suspect threw a detonator into the fire.

Police Spokesperson Lesego Metsi said all four men including the suspect were admitted to hospital for burn wounds.

Metsi said that upon further investigation police found another detonator at the suspects’ home.

“It is suspected that he could have stolen the device at his place of employment as he his working for a company that is selling crinite stones,’ added Metsi.

He furthermore explained that the suspect has been charged with possession of explosives as well as attempted murder and as soon as he is released from hospital he will have to face the consequences of his actions.
