Beach goers have been warned to stay clear of the Muizenberg and Fish Hoek beaches over the next two days due an increase in shark activity.
The City of Cape Town’s Sakhile Tsotsobe said Shark Spotters recorded consistent shark sightings at both beaches on Monday.
Tsotsobe said the sharks are following Yellow Tail fish which have been spotted as well as fishermen’s trapped nets.
He said the City will keep the public informed of any decrease in shark activity.
Tsotsobe added that the red flag which indicates a Shark Alert have been raised at the False Bay area beaches.
