Seven people and forty others were injured after a crèche was struck by lightning in Pongola, northern KwaZulu-Natal.
Children with their parents were having a Christmas party when lighting struck the building.
Of the seven who died two were parents, two teachers and three other staff members, they all died on the scene.
The injured all sustained burns and were immediately rushed to various hospitals in the area.
