Agreement reached between mine bosses and unions

The Chamber of Mines, Cosatu and the National Union of Mineworkers have agreed to keep existing wage deals intact.

Gold mining executives and unions met in Johannesburg on Thursday to discuss the ongoing strikes which have hit the industry hard.

The parties also agreed that discussions on different terms for entry-level jobs will start on Tuesday.

The National Union of Mineworkers still has to convinces its members to return to work.
