Pick n Pay: Running low on some goods

Pick n Pay has warned consumers that some of its stores are running low on certain goods due to the transport strike.

Operations director Neal Quirk says the effect is most noticeable in fresh produce and poultry.

The shortages are starting to bite, despite contingency plans being in place.

Some stores in Johannesburg and Cape Town have signs up apologising to customers for the empty shelves.

Quirk says their suppliers are in a similar position and the situation could get worse should the strike drag on.
