The South African Transport and Allied Workers Union has called on its other members in other industries to strike in solidarity with truck drivers.
The truck drivers strike has been going on for a two weeks.
The strikers are demanding a 12 percent increase per year until 2014.
It is alleged that eight trucks have been set alight in Cape Town alone,since the strike began.
Satawu says they are in the process of obtaining a permit for a secondary strike action.
