People against Suffering Oppression and Poverty on Monday said Premier Helen Zille’s comment in a newsletter about Passop was unfair and not necessary.

Zille wrote that Passop’s leader was a nephew of an ANC minister a reference to Science and Technology Minister Derek Hanekom and said Passop sought to unionise farmworkers for Food and Allied Workers Union.

Passop Director Braam Hanekom added that his political opinions are different from the views of the organisation.

Hanekom further added that he does not think it’s fair that the Premier has judge him and put him in a context that appears that he has compromised the organisation.
