The African National Congress in the Western Cape on Wednesday supported the protest in solidarity with Goodman Nono, the busker who was assaulted by metro police in Cape Town.

The officers dragged blind busker Nono, accusing him of performing outside his allocated time in the city's St George's Mall on Monday.

ANC Youth League Provincial Task Team Convenor Muhammad Khalid Sayed said the attack was unacceptable and should be dealt with.

Sayed said that Nono is not a charity case nor is he a beggar, but thanked the community for the support he received.

“We would like to commend people of Cape Town for coming out in s support in terms of legal assistance and for the guitar” Sayed added.
