Manenburg shooting leaves 21-year-old woman injured

Manenberg Police members attended to a shooting incident at Renoster Street on Wednesday. 

It is alleged that a 21-year-old woman was shot while heading to the shop with her 4-year-old daughter. 

The circumstances surrounding the shooting are unknown at this stage, no arrests have been made yet but a case of attempted murder has been open. 

Police Spokesperson FC van Wyk said she was standing at a mobile shop when she heard gunshots coming from nearby, and moved her child quickly to inside the shop’s yard.
 
“After a while she saw blood coming out of her back and she noticed she had been shot on her right lower back.

“The 21-year-old victim was taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment” van Wyk added.
