Police in the Western Cape, Eastern Cape and Northern Cape confiscated more than 642kg of dagga valued at R1 million, during an inter-provincial operation.

The crime combating operation was conducted from the 24 to the 29th of March.

Captain Malcolm Pojie said the operation resulted in over 600 people being arrested in the three provinces.

Pojie said we also confiscated a couple of goods to the value of R1.05 million and I can also say that the suspects that have been arrested were arrested mainly for drug offences as well as liquor related offences.

“We also managed to issue fines to the value of R25 000 for traffic violations during this period of time,” Pojie added.
