Response to Cosatu’s equity statement

In response to Cosatu’s statement Spokesperson for the premier Zak Mbhele said the province is on track in implementing Employment Equity.

Mbhele said this is done through a balance approach that ensures both excellence and equity in broadening and extending opportunities and not manipulating outcomes.

Mbhele added that of their senior management 75 percent of personnel are from designated groups.

He concluded that of their entire staff complement in the Western Cape government, 95 percent are from designated groups as a result of their balanced approach.
