One person was killed in a
collision that occurred on the R34 just outside Newcastle on the Memel Road
this morning.
ER24 spokesperson Pieter
Rossouw reported the collision occurred around 6am and involved only one
vehicle which was a truck.
“The truck
allegedly drove out of a farm road onto the R34, lost control and drove up the embankment
on the side of the road. When ER24 arrived on the scene they found that one man
had been killed.” Rossouw said.
The cause of the incident
remains unknown, however local authorities were on scene for further investigation,
Rossouw concluded.
