Solidarity’s workers in the Coal Mining industry will return to work on Thursday; this comes after they accepted an offer from the employers on Wednesday.
“The employers decided that they will appoint a task team who will need to find a solution, in the next six months, to the problems of the remuneration of artisans in the Coal industry,” says Solidarity spokesperson, Jaco Kleynhans.
Kleynhans explains that the Solidarity strike was based on the fact that they were very worried, about the large number of skilled workers who were leaving the Coal Mining Industry to work in other industries.
“Our members will also receive a salary increase of between 8% and 10%, “says Kleynhans.
