Chief Executive of the National People’s Party, Farid Stemmet, ‘appears to be moonlighting.’ That is stated by Izak Jenner, Chairperson of the Independent Democrats (ID) in the Western Cape.

Information that the ID received, says that Stemmet is a State Prosecutor in George. ‘Therefore it seems that he is working for Badih Chabaan and David Sasman and the National Prosecuting Authority at the same time,’ says Jenner. ‘The ID wants the NPA to investigate whether Stemmet has got permission to do both jobs at the same time.’

The ID thinks this incident could have a negative effect on the integrity of the courts and that it should be investigated: "The party is alleged to have used bribery before and during the floor crossing period to attract councillors."
