To commemorate those who have died from as well as those living with HIV and Aids, two City of Cape Town departments: Economic and Social Development and Health Services, jointly hosted an HIV/Aids memorial function in Bonteheuwel yesterday.
The City’s Councillor Theresa Thompson said that the event was very well supported by the community and it was a great success.
“We had a guest speaker, we had a councillor from the Vanguard Day Hospital that was there as well that deals with Aids cases and we had lighting of the candles in memoriam of people that have already passed away and people who are still living with the disease,” said Thompson
