The City of Cape Town’s Transport Department has been informed of an impending strike by the drivers of its Dial-a Ride public transport service.
“The Dial-a-Ride public transport service is for the exclusive use of commuters who are unable to utilise mainstream public transport due to their physical disabilities and is subsidised by the City of Cape Town and the provincial and national governments,” said the City’s Ester Moag
The service is contracted out and the contractor has indicated that a contingency plan is in place to reduce the impact in the event of a strike.
Scheduled users will be informed should anything happen that impacts adversely on the delivery of this service.
