Kuils River police in Cape Town suspect an electrical fault caused the fire in which two boys burnt to death in Sarepta yesterday.
Four-year-old Justin and seven-year-old Eugan Dirkse were sleeping alone in the Wendy house in their grandfather’s yard when the blaze broke out.
Their mother, Petronella, had left for work and the boys were at home because Eugan’s school had been closed for Ascension Day.
Captain Isaac Van Niekerk said they are still investigating and a case of inquest has been opened.
