The Guguletu police says they have been working tirelessly ever since the implementation of sector policing. The police say the Community works well with the police officers as a result of an increase of arrest.
Captain Elliot Sinyangana says for instance as from the 10th of May and the 19th May 2009, 319 suspects were arrested for serious crimes like murders, robberies, rapes, drugs, burglaries, drunken driving, stolen vehicles and warrant of arrests.
Captain Sinyagana says recently the police have launched a campaign on reject and report stolen goods and so far people responded very well.
“Further more this coming weekend on the 23 May 2009 from 12:00 until 16:00 there will be a roll out program Bambanani at Ikhwezi Community centre.”
