Hundred of the newly elected members of Parliament have been evacuated from their hotel in Cape Town following a bomb scare on Friday.
"There was a call that was received by the hotel at 06:10 saying they must evacuate," said Captain Bernadine Steyn.
Steyn said they evacuated the hotel, the Holiday Inn Express on Church Street, "as a precaution" and sent in sniffer dogs.
"Nothing was found," said Steyn.
She said the alarm that woke up guests at 06:00 was a planned fire drill.
"As you know, these things can happen at any time," she said.
