Three people including a 16-year-old boy who raped and assaulted a female doctor, are to appear in the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court today.
In 2007, a University of Witwatersrand (Wits) medical student was raped at the Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital in Soweto.
The 35-year-old was hit with a brick and raped inside one of the wards.
The Health Department’s Fidel Hadebe said “This unfortunate incident really pushes us to move with increased speed in terms of ensuring that we improve in the area of security in our facilities.”
