Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekga has condemned yesterday’s violence in Grabouw in the Western Cape.
The Minister denied that the disruption to schools in the Overberg region was politically motivated.
The Western Cape Education Department says it will do everything it can to protect pupils and schools in the area. Trade Union Federation Cosatu has offered to intervene the Grabouw school crisis.
Tony Ehrenreich of the Cosatu says they have a plan in place to address the educational needs of learners.
