The Western Cape education department confirmed today that they will be establishing a mobile school in Grabouw.
Violent protests erupted yesterday when learners insisted that the Umyezo Wama Apile Combined School be reopened.
The school was temporary closed after the community complained about lack of infrastructure and overcrowding in classrooms.
Western Cape education MEC Donald Grant said despite the opposition, they were going ahead with the interim school.
He added that the new mobile school will relieve the overcrowding until they find a permanent site for the school.
The department claimed that the protests were organised by politically motivated individuals.
