Loots Bosman out of ITwenty20 Championship

Protea batsman Loots Bosman has been withdrawn from South Africa’s Twenty20 cricket squad due to an injury he picked up while playing against Zimbabwe last month.
Bosman, who is the first player to have scored a century in the Twenty20 form of the game, sustained a spine injury while trying to take a catch in a warm up match between South Africa and Zimbabwe.
Medical records show that the player sustained a ligamentous injury to the lumbar spine with a strain at the L5/S1 segment. Although the player continues to be symptomatic from a mechanical point of view, there seems to be no neurological deficit, Cricket SA President Norman Arendse says in a media statement, citing Bosman's medical report.
“Loots needs to take a six week break from any kind of physical activity, and then gradually be worked back into fitness and then presume his cricket career as he settles down again,” said Cricket South Africa’s media officer Michael Owen Smith.
A replacement will be named once it has been approved by the International Cricket Council technical committee.
