A 32-year-old on-duty female police constable, stationed at the Gugulethu police station was killed and robbed of her service pistol on Monday night in front of a shop in Gugulethu.
“Two female members were on their way to a take-away shop when they were approached by two unknown men on foot. The suspects fired a single shot wounding the constable in the head. She passed away on the scene,” says police spokesperson Superintendent Billy Jones.
