The Zimbabwean Congress of Trade Union have applauded the South African governments for granting Zimbabweans temporary resident permits so that they could legally work in the country.
COSATU and the Zimbabwe Congress of Trade Unions have been jointly calling for the recognition of millions of Zimbabweans illegally working and living in South Africa. Zimbabwe has been losing both skilled and unskilled labour to neighbouring countries with a greater majority crossing in South Africa in search of greener pastures.
According to the Zimbabwe Congress of Trade Unions however feels that South Africa has a discriminatory approach as only people with qualifications will be considered for the permit.
