The Commission for Gender Equality will be hosting public investigative employment equity hearings in the Eastern Cape.

The aim of the hearings is to hold local government accountable for the slow gender transformation in the workplace and insufficient promotion of women with disabilities, gender equality and women empowerment.

CGE Spokesperson Javu Baloyi said it is the last league of the hearings.

Baloyi explained that in the Eastern Cape will be the last where they will ascertain and engage with companies in private sectors as far as gender transformation is concerned in South Africa and the gender commission will give a report on the outcomes by the commission of gender equality.
